Nefertiti Pendant

This piece is my variation (a bit of improvisation) of the center component of the Echoes of Nefertiti Necklace designed by Helena Tang-Lim.  The original pattern is featured (pg. 48-52) of the June 2012 issue of Bead & Button Magazine.

Working with an oval disk bead rather than a circle (which the pattern calls for) created difficulties when it came to connecting the the two pieces to make one.  After several attempts, I decided that the only way to accomplish the connection was to add in a third row of tila beads to the larger component. I think it finally worked out rather nicely.
